Our Affirmations of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God. ; 2 Timothy 3:16, Matthew 4:4, Psalms 119:151

  • We believe that there is One God, eternally existent in Three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. ; 1 John 5:7, 1 John 5:8

  • We believe in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return. ; Titus 2:13, Philemon 3:21, Ephesian 5:27

  • We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.; Luke 5:32, Luke 15:7, 2 Peter 3:9

  • We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation. ; Psalms 3:8, Romans 1:16, Romans 10:10

  • We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing in prayer. ; Isaiah 53:5, Luke 21:28, Romans 3:24, Colossians 1:14

  • We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it. ; Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, 2 Timothy 1:14, Jude 1:20

  • We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world. ; Titus 3:5, 1 Corinthians 1:30, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Hebrews 10:14

The beliefs of the Church of God in Christ are briefly articulated in its Affirmation of Faith. When reading the Affirmation of Faith, we are publicly declaring what it is that we believe.
